In a unexpected collaboration that challenges traditional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free bonus story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Adventure Revealed

According to the official statement, "A strange encounter draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where rumors of prohibited rituals and fearsome metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret cult.

The questline focuses on "bizarre tests and a terrifying enemy" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Settings and Changes

The trailer features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Extra Content

Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an special katana alongside several objects secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

This release also introduces the game's third no-cost story episode, titled "The Mystery."
