Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for consideration by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Correctional Facility

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a whistleblower provided information indicating the inmate is preparing the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the minimum-security facility in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the committee, stated in a news release that the prison’s warden was “helping” the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to aid her effort for clemency.

Specific details of the clemency request remain unclear, Raskin added.

Claimed Perks and Custom Arrangements

Raskin states that, per the insider, the prisoner has been given specially prepared food that are hand-delivered to her living area, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” private meetings for Maxwell and her guests.

The visits allegedly include a designated private space for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her guests.

Maxwell’s visitors were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and potential for unsupervised contact.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other inmates, she was provided directions about instructing her contacts to call and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she “essentially used” the warden as her private aide.

The news release states that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the warden, who would provide them to Maxwell, who would review and edit them and provide them back to the warden to scan and provide to the initial correspondent.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Further perks reportedly provided to Maxwell include time to “play with” a service dog puppy – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the prison exercise area.

Her legal counsel has not yet replied to a inquiry regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

Through a spokesperson, the White House said that it “will not discuss” on possible pardon appeals.

“Per the President's remarks, pardoning the convict is not something he has considered,” the representative noted.

Context and Developments

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Maxwell told close associates in emails from prison that she was “much happier” at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

In August, she was moved from a low-security prison in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most detainees are incarcerated for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also previously served as the President's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around the President's own personal ties to the disgraced financier and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in 2019 while awaiting prosecution on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, the congressman also revealed that he had dispatched a communication to the President, requesting explanations about the insider's claims, and called on the chief executive to reject the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant criminal,” the representative stated in the letter. “Your Administration should not be providing her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with government agents attending to her requests, or with any special treatment or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that the official appear for a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

He inquired whether Trump had talked about a potential commutation for the convict with the official or others, whether he had instructed Blanche or anyone else to arrange her with the transfer or special conditions in prison, and whether she, her lawyers, family or representatives have made any commitments to the President or his attorneys.

Raskin has asked for a response to the questions by the specified date.

In October, the US supreme court declined to hear an petition from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
